OK, it's a quite old thread now, but the following advices may be useful : to search for a FFC ribbon, you'll need the following datas from the original one : - Length - Width - the amount of contacts (or pins) - Pitch between 2 contacts - how the connectors are : same side of the FFC? The opposite? Tinned? Etc.
He never got it as I have this system now but no former cable to find out since it was missing from ngcd
I have a suggestion... if you have not tried this, but contacting online vendors that sell Neo Geo items. The Game Doctor out of Hong Kong sells some Neo Geo parts. Their website http://gamedoctorhk.com/ has CD components/parts for the NEO GEO CD. I did have look to see if they had any cables, but none were listed. I would recommend contacting them as they seem to have access to these consoles and parts. They may have what you need on hand or may be able to acquire what you need... If not, maybe they can provide you with the model number of the ribbon cable. You could also try the same with eBay sellers from Japan (if you have an eBay account)... just ask. Some of these sellers have stuff that's not on their eBay store - like non working consoles. You could also ask if they can locate one for you. I hope you find what you need... it would be nice to hear that you got that console working again... and have some closure on this old thread.
