    This is what I have-

    1. North American Dreamcast
    2. North American copy of PSO version 1
    3. BBA model number HIT-0400
    4. Planetweb V3.0 disc
    5. VMU memory card

Do I need anything else? Also, what should I set for all of the settings so that it works flawlessly? Thanks in advance. I am having issues connecting to the SCHTHACK website to get the right configuration. Something about malware being detected or whatever.

If you want to play on Sylverant, just download the Sylverant PSO Patcher disc from here:
    https://code.google.com/p/sylverant/downloads/list

Burn it and use it as a swap disc before you load up PSO.

If you want to play on Schthack, you will need to either use a Code Breaker cheat CD to edit the server hostname from Sonic Team's to Schthack's, or you will need to change your internet settings to use a DNS server that resolves Sonic Team's hostname to Schthack's IP address.

Your forgetting one thing. Hes got a bba. He can just enter the serverip as the dns.

Yes, but the Sylverant patcher disc is still a better solution long term, as it will work with PSOv2 US, and it also fixes bugs that Sega left in the game.

I'll tell you a secret, in the dc-talk pso_v2 release, the URL of the server is in plain text in the binaries, you can change it there for any server you'd like. In every other releases it's encoded, even the schthack-modified one.
