That can work, too. Don't let your HDD boot up the OS in it as it will activate the trojan. Put it as a slave drive in another computer and run scans on it. You might pick something up.
This thing is interferingwith mu keyboard! It jumbles and misplaces letters someties!m WTF!? No wonder I couldnt logom go a while! I probably just going to backup the stuff I want to a DVD adn fromst the had drive.r m
That's more likely to be a broken keyboard than anything else, in my opinion. A system restore almost certainly won't get rid of a virus, anyway.
Ok, well, I think I finally got rid of those damn things. My Keyboard isnt messing up anymore either. Spyhunter gave me a description of where they were in the registry, and I went in there and deleted the Trojan Trojan downloader, and all its little baby Trojans, too. Ever since I deleted them, my computer has been acting better than it has been for the last 2 days. I deleted a shitload of cookies and other things though, so places I used to frequent are taking a while to boot up.
I've read elsewhere you can run both Avast & NOD32 without any conflicts, if you just want that extra feel of security. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/archive/index.php/t-71484.html I myself have just uninstalled Norton for NOD32, and my PC seems to be running smoothly!
First of a Virus is program that makes other programs abnormal or act indiffrent from there original purpose. Second of you need. Noadware V3 Enditall 2 or 1 Prcviewer and a netlimiter of some sort. Now to begin what I do when I get a virus I would discconect from the net to prevent it from loading anymore viruses. Let the computer load up normal BUT QUICKLY press Ctrl+ Alt+Del to see if anything that is not right is loading while your computer is laoding and do this as many times as posible but be careful not to reset the computer. While doing this write down the names of the programs you see loading that you should not see when the computer is loading and try to end the process of these programs as many times as you can. After ending sed programs type in the name or part of the name in search and it should bring up the virus name. Delete the file and any otehr files that should not be in that folder and aany other folders that should not be there. Also don't forget to check your, Downlaoded Programs Folder, Temp, Temporary Internet Files, and your C:/ drive. Now if you are unable to end the program try to keep the folder window open while ending the program and delete it afterwards. Also I recomend checking your Msconfig and disable anything in startup that seems odd. Lastly if nothing odd is going on in the area you can safely check the regedit for anything wrong. Thats my word on Viruses and if the process will not end or refuese to be deleted lastly check the scheduler for any startu options and use Prcview and Enditall to see anything that should not be on and try to end it. If you can't end it then pop the HD into another computer and delete the program file. DO NOT RUN VIRUS PROGRAMS UNLESS YOUR COMPUTER IS USED BY PEOPLE WHO ATTRACT VIRUSES. In my exprience when I use a virus or pop up blocking agent my computer get more hits then without them. All you need to do is make rules for your self on browsing and your Virus problems will be gone. The best defense is no defense. Jus tlet the bastard walk in and report them to a couple of your hacker freinds
Poor advice and totally illogical. There's no way you get less virii when you don't have anti-virus products on your computer, that's nonsense - you just don't realise they're there (a lot of virii won't affect your every day runnings at all). Advising people to let the virus in and then deal with it also makes no sense. And how do you know what kind of people attract virii? Anyone who's online can get them without even knowing it if it's a well-coded worm or similar. That's not even taking into account that anyone can get a trojan from someone else, so even if someone isn't "virus-prone" you never know whether their friends are, or if the people who use their friend's PC are etc. Telling people to end random processes in task manager, when they don't know what they do, is also a pretty bad idea. It'll just lead to system instability or loss of data unless you know what you're doing, and anyway virii won't show up in task manager if they've been coded by someone who knows what they're doing. Nothing personal, just can't stand to see bad information being spread as truth.
What about adaware personal edition? Worked fine for me on a few ones i got way back..althogh the one listed by you i never encountered :/
Does anyone know of any good, freeware Firewalls as well? I'm trying to get rid of my current set up right now, because the subscription just ran out and I don't want to pay it again :110:
Zone alarm is free and works, but is a pain in the ass to remove. I had it for a while, but the free version is somewhat limited. You can't do things like block or open specific ports.
