Did you forget to tell them that you're not some average video game lackey kid who wants to show off his new sealed, but crushed, copy of Turok 2 that he found at a thrift store, and instead a serious collector and head of a very successful forum who is showing-off one-of-a-kind assets detailing/chronicling the origin of Turok 2?

I forgot to also mention: Few people seem to actually get partnership at 1000 subs, unless they are already seriously growing, day by day.

If we can get that channel to something closer to 2000 (and especially over), you'll have much better luck.


Also, if you're only going after unlimited-length videos, know that the non-partners that have this functionality simply have had clean channels (no strikes toward copyright infringement, or questionable content) some XXXX length of time.

You certainly have had the channel for a few years, but there's plenty of commercials and other content that you did not create yourself, and they probably won't like that too much.

 

Or a hand model with a sexy voice.

 

Label them as an unboxing as a proper presented show kinda like Jay Leno's Garage or make them into a music video with shitty effects and music.. .wait you already did the shitty music haha But yeah drop the semiseriousness and make a proper song and dance of them, doesn't have to be stupid, doesn't have to rhyme and maybe promote it that way. Once you got the status put something less ridiculous up.

They recently updated it so more people, but not all, can have >15 minute videos.

If you have any videos that are disabled, blocked world wide, or matched 3rd party content, delete them, and this might give your account the upgrade.

(I didn't have it until I deleted a video that was blocked world wide from a copyright claim.)

 

To be honest, I wouldn't want to see a video longer than 15 minutes. No matter how cool the topic, that would get boring. Keep it concise - try scripting out what you want to say beforehand.

As for Youtube, I'd sent them a reply thanking them for their explanation of their reason for denying your upgrade, and say it is a shame that they don't want the traffic from the x thousand visitors a day to your website. Having thought about it, however, you'd rather your 8000+ registered members (and unregistered visitors) weren't bombarded with their ads

 

Thats pretty ironic considering how terrible and bland most youtube channels are.

My advice would be to try and get to around 2000, then see what happens. Maybe get people on this site to try and promote it for you.

In the mean time, I would suggest producing more content, and possibly move some of the less consistent stuff over to a separate personal account. For example the video "Biohazard 4 Garrador knife only kill" doesnt seem to go very well with your newer videos that showcase rare videogame hardware/software.

As well, try to get the word out there about the stuff you have. I'm sure mainstream blogs might be interested in some of your major finds, such as the Acclaim collection. Especially if they hear you released it all for download.

Once you have more subscribers, more content, and more consistency, partner status is a sure thing. Your videos may be somewhat niche, but its a niche you fill nonetheless. Good luck.

Well that's odd. hopefully you should get the limit taken off soon. Just make sure your account is clean. Youtube said this in december:

I checked, and all three of my accounts can upload up to ~4 hour long videos now.

 

Those always had super-extended time limits.
