@lvsteven - I don't understand, were you busted when you met them or did they merely seek to confirm that is was you and then drop by your house anyway? If the former, the linking of an IP to a residence wasn't made, just to Craigslit. And @forever gaming, you need to understand anonymity and the internet, read an excellent paper on it recently by Dr Richard Clayton (you can google it, his PhD thesis) from Cambridge, which may help explain the situation. With regards to using an unsecured WiFi spot, I think the onus is on the hotspot holder to be accountable for all traffic, i.e. if you were leaching off the neighbour's internet to undertake illegal activities due their technological failings, you're essentially lumbering them with your crime (I'm sure Barcode can clarify).
The part of your Miranda Rights that goes "Can and will be used against you"? Yeh, it means your words will be twisted to show you implicated yourself as guilty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc
No they called me by getting the # off cl then played a trick to get me to meet with them and basically took me I to custody to collect the property. They got me meeting them thinking I was buying a bike.
