    Noob/curious question: can this be as "easily" done for newer consoles (regardless of the time it would take)? ie. PS1, PS2, PSP. Or is there a limitation software-wise that would not allow it?

    some people say insane, i say... why not? if you can do it, or want to do it or whatever do it. screw what anyone else says, just do your thing.

    Technically speaking, it could, if time was no object. The newer the console, the smaller the traces/parts, the more of them there are and the way more difficult the project.

    Ideally, I'd love to use this experience and work my way up, snes, then N64.

    Nintendo 64 would be the console I would REALLY! like to reduce the board of.

    By the way, the software I'm using is called "DipTrace" in case anyone is interested. Free to use for up to 500pins.
