I think there should be a forum section like this, but for China or anywhere.

I hope I'm not sounding too biased with this, but I think there should be a forum section for Living and Collecting in China and/or other regions of the world.

We all know that game collecting and living is different in every country, so why not? Some games/consoles that are "rare" (I use this term loosely but still) in NA are abundant in China.

Let me give some past history of myself.

I've been a long time game collector, and portabilizer (name on Benheck is Hotdog-cart). I "grew up" reading posts from Bacteria's and Palmer Luckey's early days.

I own a couple rarities when it comes to gaming, as well as having a massive collection at my house in Canada. Anything and everything from Atari 2600 jr, to PS3. I have a PS2 dev kit from 3DO, 64DD with original shipping box (plus games), iQue Player with games, a few hilarious Chinese NES bootlegs, Gameboy multi-carts, and few other rarities that I can't mention until I have permission from the devs.

A couple years ago, I took a small hiatus from game collecting, so I could fund my college and my teaching expedition. I'm now currently living near Shenzhen in China, and Hong Kong. Teaching is awesome, easy and somewhat stressful like any job, so to ease my woes, I've started to collect again.

I know some of you may think that videogames are "banned" in China, but it's not. It's an administrative ban, that isn't enforced. I live right near a huge arcade, and a few game stores.

Collecting is easy here in China, especially if you like obscure carts, bootlegs, etc as they are easy to come by on Alibaba, Aliexpress, and Taobao. It's all really cheap too! (Like Game Theory Admirals for $3, and so on). I think it'd be really cool to talk and share the experience with everyone here.

If there isn't a need for a forum section like this for other countries than Japan (or atleast a bootleg/clone section), then I hope the mods will allow me to post about my China experience, here.

    Thanks :)

You can create a topic on the Off-Topic section for a start.

Maybe if it gathers a lot of interest, then it could possibly become a forum section?

Do you happen to own any Chinese exclusive MS-DOS games? I'd would love to see the boxart in a couple of those please :)
