What do I have to do? Should I just spray clear coat after cleaning it or do I have to sand it or something?

i thought about leaf gold :D

but clear coat sounds good, test it on the jumper pack dust cover first, though.

Armour All liquid wash & wax? Someone I knew did this to their Saturn routinely for a shiny clean.

Permanently shiny? Degrease it and then candy coat it with auto paint.

With laquer coats you spray the same distance as you normally would, but you are supposed to spray thicker coats and fewer of them - not so thick that it runs though. Putting a laquer coat directly on plastic will be easier than appying to paint.

Thanks. I have an old HP computer (the one that opens like a clamshell) that has the same texture plastic. I'll practice on that.

This is an original-issue N64, rather than one with translucent colored plastic? I'd investigate vinyl dye. This is something American auto parts stores sell, a aerosol imbued with acetone that actually embeds itself in the plastic rather than coating it with paint. This actually changes plastic rather than coating it with paint, and it means that the new color can't be scraped off.

If you do go with vinyl dye, make sure you have plenty of ventilation and wear a respirator mask. Also, make sure you pick up vinyl dye and not vinyl coating, which is just paint that has smaller particles.

This is a standard black N64. I think I'm gonna ask one of those guys in the mall that does airbrushed t-shirts and see if he could do it. I am pretty bad at spraypainting anything.
