The infamous swap trick (I have no idea how to do this) or a region switch (I might do this myself, once I buy a new soldering iron). There are always the carts, but I'd imagine you'd want to keep your cart slot free for a memory or RAM cart. The switch is covered at www.gamesx.com
Thats why you get the 4-in-1 cart that has the memory, cheat device, and ram and lets you do the swap trick fairly easier than without it.
1. A Japanese Saturn. I mean, if you're really gonna be playing mostly Japanese games, get a nice sexy white NTSC-J Saturn. And/or 2. An 'Antion Replay +' cart jobbie. Multiregion games, save cart and 1 / 4 Meg expansion too. Or get your soldering iron out - http://www.gamesx.com/importmod/saturncon.htm GamesX is the business for import mods. There's also a switchless Saturn mod too, if you're feeling even more adventurous.....
Always save to the Saturn's memory then to the cart BTW, I can't remember if the swap trick will work for J games. I don't think so but it's been a good 3 years since I've last done it.
unless you don't want to get JPN saturn, get ARP4-1 and official backup memory cart. Yes APR4-1 does have backup memory but I found it quite temperamental. I used to save to internal memory and then transfer to backup memory cart - yes it was cumbersome process and one of the reason I got sick and installed region switch on my spare PAL Saturn. at the end of day, switching is the most convenient way although it really depends on one's soldering skill... cheers
Swap trick? Erm, no. That would be for playing CDRs, hardly imports. Best way is to get a JP Saturn. If not, get it swicthed. If not, get an import cart like Action Replay 4 in 1 (which itself has to be modded to play SF Zero 3 etc...grrr) or ST-key. Also palese you'd get your answers quicker next time by simply using the search function - either here or on Google.
You would have to rip the game and then patch it, am I correct? But as I recall, after you patch the game it should run using the swap trick.
Thanks for the replys and advice everyone, looks like the Japan Saturn is the most painless way to go.
Yeah it sure is ... compared to spending $25 for an AR+4in1 you just put it in the cart slot and forget it I only have a JP saturn and still bought one :smt023 I just don´t play PAL games US and JP are fine because they both run at 60Hz.
