I've been there about two weeks now, I stock the floor and back room for $8.50 an hour. It's a cool job, better than my last 3. Everytime I stock electronics, I have partial geekasms, because I love the games back there. Like I got to stock 13 Wiis and BAM depressions gone. While I do get 10% off of everything I think if I bought the Wiis i'd lose my privelege. Anyway I was back in the elecronics stockroom when I spotted the camera and then I noticed it was focused on copies of Rock Band 2. Then I LOLed and had a great shift. I guess it's the loneliness in me that made me want to take a copy and send it to a releaser... I don't own a 360 so I can't do anything with it. Oh yeah the Marines don't want me because they say I live in a dream world.
Crap I meant to make the thread more about my discovery of Rock Band 2... Can a mod please move this to off topic, Please! :icon_biggmy favorite mod being Yakumo, Barc0des a close second.
You get paid way more than I did doing the same job. I also had to be there at 3AM every morning. On the other hand, when I was done (usually at around 9-10AM) I could go home, smoke the good herb, and sleep for a few hours. The guy I worked with stocking electronics was a lazy slob who smelled like he used mayonnaise as deodorant. I'd be putting things up (while checking out the more interesting items) while I'd catch him sitting in an aisle, literally standing there just staring at boxes. I complained about him enough, though, and I'm pretty sure I got him fired. Oh, and the 10% discount doesn't count for much unless you buy something like an HDTV. Any smaller electronic items I wanted were cheaper online.
i make money in ways i shouldn't discuss here.......of course, it is mostly spent at the school pub.... Then again, none of my income is made by looking at unreleased titles either,....lucky S.O.B
Im actually getting paid to post this response right now:icon_bigg As much as I hate working in this gas station, its nice having a coffee shop across the street with free wifi.
Assembler: Could you please make Barc0de a mod so he can be my second favorite? Taemos: It's alright my shift is always 11a-7p, but I can take breaks whenever i want. Nobody watches me. I just have to go to all the locations on my PDT. Technically I don't even have to grab anything either. On weekdays I pretty much play my DS for maybe an hour or two per shift:love: It's awesome. PhreQuencYViii: Your school has its own pub? What do they serve butterbeer? Yakumo: I think this job may get me out of my ten year depression:dance:
When I go to work I usually WORK. Playing DS on the job? What a slacker. Yes, I am starting to sound like a boss, but I hate it when I have to pick up the slack when other workers at my job don't do what they're supposed to.
I work in my house, through Skype and VPN. I still work 3x harder than most people in offices I'm convinced.
I could care less what people do on the clock as long as their job gets done. I go get lunch on the clock, eat food and watch Youtube videos *directly* in front of my boss (showed him a video of Nickelback being pelted by rocks the other day), and can talk with the girls at the front desk. Why? Because I get my job done in a relatively timely manner. Fixing computers is usually a pain in the ass, but I enjoy my job because of the perks. I think my boss realizes that the job can be tedious, so he's pretty slack. We are always getting free food, too (donuts the other day). It shits all over what I used to do at Target. My summer job there was salesfloor, meaning I walked around and made sure boxes were straight. It got even better when jackasses asked me stupid questions for the sole purpose of pissing me off (yes, this really happened) and kids walked around punching boxes that I had to fix. So yeah, in short, do your job and do it in the time allotted. If you did your job right and have time left over to goof around, more power to you.
I go to work and get all my shit done in the first couple hours. The rest of the day im just standing there by myself in between cutomers:banghead: so why not play a DS or in my case bring a laptop?? Thank you!
I get paid 9 something ( just got a raise, dont remember how much for) to stand, talk, and make coffee and pretend to be interested in what people say for the 2 minutes or so it takes to make their latte...
I currently work in the law school library. I get paid to either surf the net or study. Rarely ever have to check anything out to anyone.
