Ola chaps I was on EVE Online yesterday and some people were telling jokes in local. As a result I wrote 2 jokes and I'm looking for an opinion. The first is kinda tacky - I asked the question without knowing the answer. Some people responded then I had an epiphany and the joke was complete lol. The second joke is kinda dirty but I got the idea after someone mentioned is it time for thanksgiving chicekn yet which led me to think of turkeys. Anyhow: Q: What do you get when you cross a chicken with an egg? A: An omelette! Q: What is the difference between a chicken and a turkey? A: One gobble gobbles but the other fuck, fuck, fucks! Now with the universe being the way that it is there is a chance someone else somewhere else has had the same or similar idea, but in any case I am glad I independantly came to those conclusions Any thoughts?
Don't know about the first one, unless putting chicken meat into ommlettes is common? Don't eat them myself so don't know. I guess in the second one fuck is a word play on cluck. To pull it off you'd have to do a good/comical impression of a chicken while saying the last bit though, It isn't a great joke by itself. It would be better if the Q had some suggestion towards sex, or women etc (for example saying chick instead of chicken, dunno about turkey...something about turkish women?) - it just had me thinking why would someone be getting a BJ from or banging poultry? The answer in an effective joke should make you question the meaning of the first line, ie comedy usually comes from making people realise they made a common assumption to what the first line meant, rather than what the answer or punchline actually means. A wordplay in itself usually isn't that funny, unless there is context or contextual implication in the words used - IMO anyway I know lots differ on that.
You want to know what's funny on this site? Yakumo's "Driving Pleasure" thread. EVERY time it pops up I chuckle. haha
They're not that funny, kind of cliche if you ask me, no offense intended. On a side note, I'm going to go eat some turkey.
