IDE Channels

    AS mentions in another thread I am making a house sever for all my music. Ive got a few IDE drives lying around (around 6 I think) but I only have 2 Ide channels on my server, is it possible to add more channels? I need at least another 1 to connect the last 2 drives. Or is the best way to connect them to a USB interface? The sever will prob run Ubuntu 7.04.

    Found out I can get pci card with an extra 2 channels. Woo!
    Sorted.

    Providing you have no CD, 2 HDDs per channel, 2 channels = 4. If you have an ATA card like I do, thats an extra 2 channels, so a total of 8. Any more and you'll need a server rack :p
