    hello everyone,

I finally got my mod working yesterday with the help of a kind person from brazil who answered many questions on facebook, and as a piece of info I would share here is : use high gauge (fat) wires, and make them short & neat.

however as Iam new to iso loader of the dreamshell I have noticed the following and Iam quite disappointed and need some help please :(

1- the dreamshell occasionally freezes on boating, sometimes on the black screen of reading the HDD before dreamshell logo. I was told that it might be a lose connection, I will check that , but any other thoughts???

2- I added many games in several formats to the HDD, some are CDI , and some are GDI, then I came to know that there is something called optimizing gdi, many games did not work, some worked with horrible cutting/lag in CG videos , and even in gameplay so what is the issue here? I tried selecting the (use DMA transfer ) box but that only helped in making bio hazard Code veronica work with almost lag free video.. I need to understand what to do here plz.

3- options I edited in display options or iso loader options are supposed to save, however when I switch off then on again they are back to default, don't they save?

4- Iam using VGA output, however in bio hazard code veronica I noticed extensive analysing lines in the vertical scale, is there any settings to fix? I tried to change (native display) from auto to 480P , and saved my selection, restarted the dc, but when I go to DS options again its back to auto , doesn't it read the saved option file?

    thanks in advance

Unfortunately the problem still relies on wiring. Take a special attention to the GROUND, wire it as shorter as possible. Have you a pic of your install?

You really have to optimize your GDIs for ISOLoader. That's an easy process, grab the latest version of ISO Make Pack, copy its contents to your GDI folder and double click on "optimize_gdi.bat" to optimize your GDI.

There is a bug on Dreamshell, it can't save video settings.

As for #4 question, I don't know, I didn't test CV yet. Is it only happens with CV game?

hi GillBert, and thnx a lot for your reply.

regarding point # 1 , I did so and checked the wires, I think points 36, 33, & 38 on the adapter were somewhat slightly shorted, and the socket (which I haven't removed by the way as I removed the lower metal cover of the DC so there is enough space to keep it) was quite loose .. so I fixed those and during all my trials yesterday no more stoppages.

point#2 : I downloaded this pack but did not know how to use it, I clicked (gdi to iso) , and it generated a .iso file which was bad too, (I tried the following games with the following feedback):

1- bio hazard CV (GDI format): game runs, movie is slight buggy (cuttings/lag) , the game seems to play normal only tried it for a minute only in jail.
2- bio hazard CV (.iso converted by the iso pack from GDI): its much worse, the movie don't run , it starts then mixes up and skips movie, game seems to work.
3- giga wings (CDI format): runs after activating the option in iso loader (use DMA transfer) which I have no idea what is it or what does it mean, the game movie is extensively cutting, the game worked (cant say if it normal).
4- sega fishing base 2: (CDI format): the entire game is extensively cutting , its unplayable,
5- sega fishing base 2:(converted to .iso by the iso pack): doesn't run at all , it gives a dreamshell black screen with many white writings, then says reboot in 10 seconds,
6- many GDI games non worked at all , gives black screen after selecting them.

so in short not a single game that I could say it runs normal, so can you please explain to me formats supported by DS which makes games runs flawlessly.

point# 3: its really sad, so what is the alternative? just change what ever option I want before running the game itself? although if I do so and even save and re-enter the options its all back to default !! ?? another person suggested that an SD is mandatory !! that would be a big headache really !! is that true that I need an SD anyway?

point# 4: well I will just recheck that , and its not very important compared to above serious issues, so kindly just ignore it.

in addition to those, I have an important question to me: now I use a cd to run dreamshell, do I need the dual bios mod to run it without booting from CD ?? I mean from HDD direct? because as far as I read (if I understand it right) that DS 4 and above you can now boot directly from HDD, mainly that my GD-drive lens is dying..

    thnx a lot really
