Hey there guys. New here, first time posting. I am working on a rehousing and ATA mod project for my DC. I am planning on recycling my launch day DC but the problem is that it no longer reads discs. It boots up fine though. I was wondering if there was a simple enough mod/hack that was similar to the GDEmu, but with the sole purpose of only loading Dreamshell so I can navigate to a hard drive or SD card to load games. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks.
There's a new(?) bios out which supports dreamshell booting from a hard drive. Here's the link to the thread where it's being talked about atm, https://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?54887-BIOS-mod-to-boot-DS-from-IDE
Yeah, I really want to try the ATA mod but the instructions aren't the easiest for me to understand. I don't get if the thing actually just boots off of the hard drive or what.
its a bios you install, i think through the piggyback method, its got a version of dreamshell on it. that way you wont have to boot from disc every time. So from my understanding its the same as loading games from a sd card but you do it through the hard drive instead.
