If there anything else I need to softmod my Xbox to play imports?

From what I understand, all I need is a Xbox Action Replay with a original copy gamesave of Mechassault (A friend is going to let me borrow it), and the original copy of Mechassault that isn't the platinum edition. Thing is, will it work with any original version, or are there specific ones before the platinum that won't let me do it (IE: Getting a green cased version and it still not working).

 

Game of the year edition = no good.

 

idk if you already have an AR, but I made one with a flash drive/PSO keyboard adapter for cheap.

Should be. I rented mine from Rogers Video, cause rental places always have old copies of games.

 

You can ask the seller for the code off the game disc to be sure.

IIRC, the Live bundled version and the GTOY version didn't work.

In addition to MA, 007 and a Spliter Cell game also have the exploit.

These are the games that will work. I gotta say, softmodding your Xbox is one of the best things you can do with that console. It's totally worth it.

I wonder how common the MS02301L version of Mechassault is? Ah well...I just used BIN, so I guess I won't know until I gets here.

 

it was the initial run, then they fixed it, then the game of the year one came out.

 

I think it's fairly common. If it doesn't work, just let me know. I'll send you my Mechassault disc to use, no problem. :nod:

As for the adaptor...just make one...easy as hell too, and works like a charm
