At the rate the usa and china and india are consuming oil it will be all gone <15 years and that will become less faster and faster as india and china indutrialize on high pace.

Even things like steel are almost unpayable now because china and india require more then can be produced, this will go for all raw matterials as the inductrialization and modernisation of those 2 countries increases.

bottom line, enjoy life while you can because it won'tbe getting any better soon.

Pretty much any magnetic storage media will be brutally rare. You know, like VHS, Hard Drives, and Cassette tapes, or 8 tracks.

Also LPs and and other older media might be very rare. I don't know, but with the advent of HDTV, maybe CRT displays will be somewhat rare, and older TVs will be extremely rare.

i hope there with all my heart will be a cure, since too many people has died of that horrible illness and disease.

and i have had the fear of being HIV positive when i broke up with my first love, because she had too much love without a condom, and after three months, i took the Elisa test and was HIV negative.

And i almost swore i would not reply in this thread, but i did it anyway, because that is a horrible disease.

I doubt LPs will get much rarer than they are now. Most people who have a lot now are collectors, and I doubt they're gonna throw them out or anything (unless they're shite albums ^_^). And vinyl actually lasts, unlike magnetic tapes. My grandad has hundreds of records, and a lot of them are pretty damn old!

We still have yet to see how long CDs will last, but hopefully they'll still be around by then.

Yeah, I don't know anyone with a TV under about 10 years old now. CRTs are great and all, but they just don't last and old TVs often aren't worth repairing, especially taking into account how technology has progressed and prices have dropped.

Indeed. The only people that buy vinyl now are:

1: Real DJs that know CDs suck
    2: Collectors

For the first, 99% of the music they've likely got isn't available on CD, so they won't trash their records. Collectors, are just that... even if they sell stuff, it'll likely go to the hands of other collectors.

Their as actualy a tucked away pawn-shop like place arround where I live that has nothing but stacks of vinyl records. And in fact I used to have several hundread myself, but I gave them to an uncle of mine who cared to own them much more then I.

As for rare games, I think that most of any quality for systems that wern't very popular and were based on disc technology will be hard to come by (ex: saturn or 3do games). I havn't had any pressed discs fall apart on me yet, but i've had alot of burned ones do so. I don't suspect that the pressed ones unless kept in the correct environment (not too hot or cold, and low to no humidity) will last more then 40 years. But we'll see.
