    This is exactly the sort of selfish zero-sum thinking that makes famine in Kenya and North Korea possible. More for me does not immediately equate to less for you.

    One of the reasons that altruistic behavior is getting rarer in western society is the misconception that there isn't enough for everybody. Especially with abstract and intellectual properties like games, if many people benefit that does not negate or dilute any one person's enjoyment. Your satisfaction with owning something can be great if that thing is uncommon, but it doesn't increase if you keep someone else from having it.

    To answer your question directly? I wouldn't do it. Anyone who did earns neither my respect nor my support.

    You did that already last summer, don't you remember? :110:

    @topic
    I probably would start becoming much more pedantic about my collection, like having doubles for everything (one perfect conditioned one in a baggie, one for playing although also perfectly conditioned). Sealed collecting is something I simply don't like although it might be "perfect condition collecting". Even money couldn't make me start it, I love looking through manuals too much and hate to be bothered about a loose CD or a crack in the seal. WTF.

    Anyway, I'd probably start buying loads of interesting stuff, not necessarily vg related and I wouldn't hoard some special limited game either (seems pointless to me). A complete Criterion Collection collection would be awesome, I saw people selling their collections (450+ discs and Eclipse series) for 9000$. Good deal for such a mass of contemporary movies in brilliant packages. Or Vinyl, every LP of every band I like, japanese LPs of Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, The Stalin and Underground Resistance, stuff like that - stylish, but a little too much for my pocket and for my room and for now.

    Maybe I'd just buy all loose Super Mario Bros carts I can get and burn them, tenthousand every month. After 10 years it probably increases in value:p

    I wouldn't, one copy of anything is enough. I would however open as many sealed rare games as possible!

    Would be funny to walk into Super Potato, buy the priciest sealed game of the whole shop and rip it open in front of the salesmen.

    I'd just buy whatever I need on a whim and make my setup extra sexy, plus some interior design to fit the drapes. The rest I would invest so I wouldn't have to bother worrying about money ever again, and probably just open a games' studio and publish my own titles :p

    This already happens with the Neo AES.

    If you look at a few peoples collections they have several copies of some of the latest home cart releases which pushes the rarity level through the roof. Seeing as they are released in limited quantities in the first place it's a real problem.

    I saw one guy who had bought 3 copies of Metal Slug 5, one to play, one to keep sealed and one to display.

    Sickening really.

    He paid a pretty penny for each copy, I am sure.
