Holy shit, that song is horrible. The 90s references were obviously given more effort to than that shitty music.
1996-97ish. So the Playstation transforms into an SNES? Weird. I turned off the video. If you are an 80's/90's kid who grew up playing video games...here's a much better video
The video Henners posted was awesome. First video was lame. If you want to hear a good rap song about 80s/90s gaming (by real rappers no less) then here:
What about Biggie's "Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis" mention? :witless: Actually, I just remembered there was a Soulja Boy song that mentioned Marvel vs. Capcom...uggggghhhhh....
Well, if we're going by them just mentioning video games then we could be coming up with stuff all day. :wink-new: My favorite random video game reference from a rapper though is in Ras Kass' song "Drama": "I turned the bitch into my fifi, she know my name 'cuz I got mo' game than Sega CD" He also had a Virtua Fighter reference somewhere on that album (Soul on Ice). But still, a rapper mentioning the Sega CD was just so weird...
Nerdcore is an entire sub genre too lets not forget. and MC Frontalot can go fuck himself, Hate that guy. Nobody talks about this guy
What is wrong with Frontalot? He's a super nice guy and has some good ability. Are you hating just because he's more known?
Megaran is pretty good (if that's how you spell his name, I'm only aware of him because my wife loves his FFVII concept album).
Some shitty rapper also mentioned the GC in a song, which I always thought was weird since PS2 and Xbox were arguably more popular in the US. Sega also got namedropped in House of Pain's Jump Around - which was actually censored in one of the NBA Street games...
