I think something was passed recently that can get you into trouble for "annoying" people on the Internet.

Yep, that something comes to mind as well! Sure don't want to evolve into that topic, if you know what I mean... ;-)

Typical day in America. Someone wants to get money, so instead of being a man and earning, they take the pussy way out and try to sue someone.

I couldn't have put it better myself ! Sue sue sue !! You know, I'm afraid to go to the States in case some fucker sues me for sneezing next to them or something ! They'd probably say I gave them the flue which caused them to miss work resulting in lost pay. Actually I can honestly see that happening !!

As an American citizen, i feel you are unfairly catagorizing me due to the action of a few individuals. I am deeply offended, and feel emotionally threatened by your words here. You can expect a letter from my lawyer outlying the damages i'm seeking for emotional scarring. Online message boards are no laughing matter. :110:

Japan is in the United States, right? It's just south of Idaho, if i remember right...

again, more like the dipshit judges and juries that allow them to win. However most of the time, the public doesnt know the whole story. That incident with the woman spilling hot coffee on herself then suing mcdonalds was spun the wrong way so bad..

There's so much shit with negligence and assault and all that stuff, that you could get sued for kids breaking into your backyard and drowning in your pool while you are away at vacation..kinda funny actually.

Yeah, if a kid enters your backyard and drowns in your pool, you could get sued. That's why people have those ugly saftey gates around thier pools.

Of course then you could counter-sue for the emotional distress of having to see thier child drowned in your pool. That could scar a man for life.

Then they could counter-counter-sue you, saying your suing them is emotionally scarring becasue it belittles the loss of thier child.

Then you could counter-counter-counter-sue them for even having a child in the first place, claiming that by having a child with the world in the state that it's in is cruel to the child and wrongfully annoying against all who have to live near it, case in point the little tyke drowning in your pool.

    ad infinitum...

I know I'm going to sound like my father, his father, etc., but I remember back when people actually had pride, and took responsibility for their actions.

You guys take things way out of proportion, well you guys can't help it because what you're reading was blown out of proportion, too. There is a line between agressive flaming and pure idiotic flaming. Especially, when the flamer/flamee knows where the other person lives.

The government doesn't have the money to enforce that law for idiots being idiots. Cyber stalking is pretty serious and results in physical violence towards the victim, thats the type of stuff the police will go after. Like when a woman is in danger, not because some whiney kid on assemblergames.com got offended (I mean annoyed) by someone else. Geez.

Just because its happening to two people now, doesn't mean you can label every other american as a sue-happy retard, jesus christ[IMG]. Smart (I should say "Sly") people use the law for their gain. And if they win, then they are smart, but if they lose, then they are a fool.

What about sites where *EVERYONE* is a problem member?

I-Mockery, Adtrw, and various anonymous posting boards come to mind.

Yeah, but the one thing that isnt reported on is the fact that 99% of these cases get thrown out, just like any other country. Thats the problem with the US. We air ALL of our dirty (non newsworthy) laundry where others dont. Tort reform is coming and we need it.
