What's with IGN being in every ******* game-related search I make? The link is about NOTHING at all. Just a name of game in a database. Imo this a VERY bad thing. There's loads of great sites covering games complete with screenshots boxscans and the like and there's IGN taking the top spot with ZILCH. It smells and I don't like it, AT ALL.

    Anyone else feels the same?

What do you type? Give me an example. With Google, you can pay them money to have your site show up on the first page as long as the site has a general relation to what you're searching for. Its obvious IGN will come up if you're searching for videogame related stuff.

Mostly SEGA stuff like ; sega saturn 'game name'.

Well, it's not in every search but certainly in a LOT of searches I made lately..

If the search result is nothing more than a name once entered in a database, there's no reason at all to have a link in google.com and certainly not in the first spot on the first page.

Its probably because some guy told them the name of the game and was too lazy to provide much info on it besides its name.

  6. Wrong they hired a guy to make a database of the names of thousands of games so that web searches for those game names draw people into ign thus more customers. Just another way from crappy websites like ign to spam the online gaming world with shallow gaming insight and hollow game info.

Some of the search engines are now ignoring "not" statements when it comes to the paid-placement "results". Commerce killed the internet search...

IGN is high in the search list because there are lot of links to IGN from other sites, not because the paid Google for it.
