I'm getting a free cellphone, which one should I get?

My company is offering me a free cellphone. So far they are giving me 3 models to choose:

    The Samsung T809
    [IMG]

    SonyEricsson S710a
    [IMG]

    SonyEricsson W810i
    [IMG]

Both the T809 and the S710a have the same 1.3MP camera and QVGA screen while the W810i has a weaker screen (like the one in the motorola V3) but a 2MP camera.

I already have a SLVR which is still almost new yet after the experience I wont be buying a motorola ever again. On the other phones, I dont really care about music since the MSduos in both SE phones are so expensive (in 1GB sizes and up) that I could get an iPod for that.

Plus I heard the music quality in these phones is below of even most standart standalone MP3 players.

    Anyway, let's start the rant.

EDIT: I want to add that since the phones are free they wont give me some of the pack-ins that one may find in unlocked versions. For example, they told me none of these phones includes a memory card.

if you can try and get a SE k800. Fantastic phone, I thoroughly recommend it. otherwise you know how much I like S60 phones - one like the N70 or N90 would be a good choice in my eyes

From those i would get the W810, which is basicly the W800/K750 without the joystick.

I already asked about the K800 and they told me is still too expensive and they will only cover a small portion of the price, while I've to pay the rest. And about the N-series from nokia, they told me something in the lines of no-fucking-way:-(

BTW, did you get that N80?

The 809 gets dust stuck in the screens alot, and thats the only thing thats wrong with it

Stuck as "in the screen"? or under the screen?

If its the latter then is quite a problem...

Nah shadow, went with the k800. couldnt stomach £130 (bastards put the price up) plus a decent memory card, when the k800 was free.
Finally, go with the 810. The software is close to the k800s, which is very nice imo

Yeah they are, maybe not exactly the same (the 810i is brighter) but the resolution is the same sub-QVGA one from my SLVR.

Anyway, I was thinking, maybe the S710a is too old, therefore is between the Samsung and the W810i.

BTW, I'm asking my boss if the P910 is in the deal. What do you guys think of that model?

the_steadster: bummer dude! I mean, the K300 is still a nice piece of phone (better than what I'm gonna get:DOH:) yet the N80 was loaded.

Sorry for the double post guys, but the clock is still running and I've to make a decision.

If you think of any other phone in this price range that I may ask for, hurry up and post it. Remember it cant be anything too pricey...

BTW, I checked an unlocked P910i in a store. Nice package, it comes with everything, like a PC-sync dock, a faux leather case and even a high-end bluetooth handsfree. But if the W810i doesnt even include the default 512MB MSduo I really doubt this phone may include any of the stuff above.

My advice would be to steer clear of Samsung. I have had a few of their phones and they have always been lacking in the little details that make a phone stand out of the crowd. And bad design issues, like single button press SMS cancels.

LG have nice features but poor quality control.

In fear of sounding like a Sony fanboy, the W810i is rather nice. Ericsson always made great phones and the W810i is not a bad. I have my eye on the K800i and if you care about a camera on it then this is pretty hot. I don't think it is out in the USA yet, and I think it is top of the line.

The K range is more camera orientated than the W range.

Yeah but I still want that QVGA screen on the samsung phone, maybe even more than the camera since I barely take any photos lately. Also since they are giving me the phone for free I'm not getting any accesories beyond the wired handsfree, so theres no way they will give me the 512MB MSduo....

And the K800i is already here but they say since is top of the line (like, say, the N series) they arent giving it for free, so its out of my list.

BTW, I would love to get my hands in this bad boy:

Indeed, anyway, dont expect to get this one in a promo: since is too pricey no carrier has intentions to sell it, so is unlocked all the way for this model.

Is said it will cost somewhere near to 1000 euros:eek:h:
