I'm looking for the title of an old film about the war in Vietnam 80/90'

The film was unusual, because the war was fought in a dream two former veterans.
When one of them fought in a dream, the second mate who at that time did not sleep helped him unlocking the weapon or dressing wounds... And that's all I remember

I think I know of this movie. I had it on VHS but the tape ended up being damaged. I should still have the box at home, I will look for it.
