With this joke of a country.

I just started laughing like hell when I readed on the local newspaper how, the national electricity company, went today to the government railway stations, one per one, to cut their electricity and that the railway workers have been told from the government to literally, not allow the electricity company workers enter into the stations. Or how, in some towns, basic services like schools or hospitals aren't receiving basic supplies like water or electricity because the town's halls couldn't pay the bills. That is even passing down here, on the capital, on some schools. Or how, some medical public resources just got cut in half or even removed like the public support to disabled people.

Well, you might think, don't whine so much, for fuck's sake. This is happening everywhere in the world, so face it and try to get along with it as long as it takes.

But what is really funny is howcome is this government WASTING OUR MONEY in FORMULA ONE and SAIL RACES, what the fuck!? Who fucking cares about having formula one or sailing races in this city when we can't fucking pay the electricity bills to an extent it has to be cut? When our debt is bigger than our income and than our GDP?

Well, in my town that's called BANKRUPTCY. And the government just payed I don't know how many millions of euros to Berni Eccleston so there's F1 in this city next year.

But with whom I'm pissed off is with the people in this country. Because they don't give two fucking shits about everything that is happening over there. Because they just want to have a beautiful city for europeans to visit, but health? schools? public transportation? Bah, that's utterly useless! Who cares about that? We have formula one! I can't eat, but see how the rich motherfuckers and the european tourists are!

I seriously wonder what will happen when daddy European Union closes the money drain. :banghead: I'll perhaps have to go back to town to harvest some groceries to survive while we have formula one, two and three...

At least every country has its ridiculous decisions. The German government spent 5 billion Euros on a bonus for wrecking your car if you bought a new one instead (to supply the car industry). The Euros are gone, Opel still struggled and others fall into a deep financial hole after the campagne ended.

Imagine how many schools could have been refurbished with a budget of five billion. Five billion. For nothing. And that's only a very small part of all the unnecessary investments our and other governments make, every day, every second.
Imagine Obamas 30k extra soldiers. They cost 30 billion, every litre of gas that has to be shipped or flown to Afghanistan costs 200$! Imagine that. People are wasting money they don't have, it seems to me that every country just lives out of its credit card by now. Nobody sees black numbers anymore, the red ones just grow, get a bit smaller, grow bigger.

5.000.000.000 Euros could probably have fixed the schools here and done a lot of good. But well instead they have gone about and fucked some more up here, and oh yeah it looks like the deal that came through at the "meet and greet" circus we have had here more commonly known as the COP15 (they came to a VERY mediocre "deal") was more important. So I hear you guys.

Perfectly good and working cars went to waste, I witnessed it 1st hand...
Speaking of unnecessary investments, don't get me started on the Wachstumsbeschleunigungsgesetz!

Yeap, we had CARS, AKA "cash for clunkers" here in the states. It was nothing short of a fcking fiasco on the dealer end, too.

And I was still working at a Ford dealer at the time. You have no idea. I could almost attribute that program to my downfall, IE whatever had them decide they didn't need my position anymore.

We haven't done anything to support our car industry, and now SAAB is to be closed...

Well, you can't offer life support for a dying factory forever. Atleast Scania and Volvo trucks are doing great.

Well, at least you live in a beautiful city if that's any help ;-)

But seriously, I didn't know Valencia had it that bad. Sounds real shitty, and this (among other things) makes me wonder whether the devolution of power to autonomous regions is such a universally good thing, as seems to be generally maintained in Catalunya. I'm not questioning the value of cultural autonomy, but there is something to be said in favour of a more centralised government.

Anyway, Spain's gotten admirably far in the last three decades. The way is up, not down :)

The same is true of Europe.

If you're in the EU and want to go to the US, you're screwed.

If you're in the US and want to go to the EU, you're screwed.

I know plenty of US folks would would love to live and work in the EU but getting a work visa is impossible for them same as it is for the EU folks I know that have been trying to do the reverse.
