It doesn't work. doesnt play movies. Here in the states returns are easy. its as easy as doesn't work I want my money back. as long as everyhting is in the box your good to go.
and they won't notice the different serial numbers? Guarantees on electronics go with their serial numbers, so u can't swap items.
How big is your monitor? I just can't see the appeal of playing a PS3 (or Xbox 360) on a monitor if it isn't just as big as a plasma. High def graphics HAVE to be seen on a large screen.
HUH... register online with the new number and what person, who does returns ever check a seriel number and to that end when does a box have a seriel number of the main unit? Anyways like I said originally this is what I read some people were thinking of doing. Just passing along what I read. It uses the ps2 video connector and I thought the ps2 had a vga connection. Although I could be wrong
Well I know that all Nintendo systems for quite some time now have actually had openings in the packaging so that you can see the serials. Also, have you ever tried returning a PSP? They do check the numbers to make sure you are returning the correct model.
the first part both would have seriels so it would be a wash. The second would be tough to overcome. Can not say I ever tried to return a psp. I have a black us and blue japanese. never had an issue with either. Although on the blue one unless I opened it and traded cases the blue would give it away instantly. i know on returns it is all based on the stores. Some are easier than others. Some they want everything and a cavity search while others they just do not care. based on your type of store it can be either tough or easy. Anyways i feel like a fish swimming upstream and getting pounded. my thoughts on this started from something I read but seeing the feedback so I bow to powers of all and say wont work..mite.. wont..
Oh I've been known to return quite a few "questionable" items in my time. I just don't think I'd be gutsy enough to try pawning off an import item. unrelated but it looks like I'll finally be buying that DS this month. Finally a sequel to Card Fighter Clash! Probably one of my favorite portable games of all time.
My DS , or I should say my daughters, came a few months ago. Between my long waits at Walmart, she was playing their DS and her wanting a dog I finaly broke down and bought her the DS and Virtual dogs. Since that game has saved me on buying a dog I have become a great fan of it.
Heh actually I was so abysmally disappointed about the Wii launch that I almost bought a DS on launch morning just to spite myself for waiting in line for 12 hours. I was able to hold it together long enough to buy the 4th Wii at my local Toys R Us, but I was so damned tempted.
Mine was pure luck. A good friend of mine stumbled over a second one about 1 month ago and picked it up for me. I tried the line idea once ,at best buy, it was on the 3rd batch they received. I waited just to have the 1 family with 6 kids their aunt, mom and dad buy all but 2. besides that family their were 5 others in fromt of me. Then the kids came out of the store asking us in line if we wanted to buy them. Talk about a bunch of grown ups wanting to pound some kids.
Really why buy the US or Japanese PS3 with the hardware backwards compatibility? Why don't you just keep a PS2 around. It's cheaper. Being that you are in the PAL region, you'll never be able to play your PAL PS1 or PS2 games on a US or Japanese PS3 anyway. And who knows how good or bad the emulation on the PS3 will be. Really, don't buy a PS3 unless you want thing other than backwards compatibility through the hardware. If you want to play PS2 or PS1 games buy a PS2 or PS1. There's just no point in my opinion to doing that. Why go spend so much money on PS3 now just for BC. You can always pickup a reasonably priced PS2. Buy a PS3 if you can't wait to get your hands on some games out for it or to use that Bluray movie playback or something.
I wish people would be dicks and ask SONY to enable B/C for ps2 linux (although there's a PS3 linux;p )
Because I don't own a PS2.. that would force me in to first buy a PS3 for almoast 7000SEK (~987 USD) and a PS2 for 1400SEK (~197 USD) leaving me with a total of 8400 (~1184 USD). And because I don't own a PS2, I don't own any PS2 games yet.. so I might as well start importing PS2 games too as that probably also would be cheaper then buying them in sweden. But as I'm waiting until the end of the month until I decide I have the chance to see how well the SW emulation supports the PS2.
