Really, it wasn't meant to sound arrogant. A bit provocative maybe but with a smile. :)

Well yeah! But still turns a tasty little profit. (for about a month or two till a "proper" store starts importing!)

I've used the same Amazon account to order stuff from .com, .co.uk, .de and .jp. It's how I'll be getting hold of US and UK DVDs whilst in Japan. Also Sam, look into getting a UKNova account - best way to get hold of UK TV.

What exactly do you import? Clothing is a world I enjoy, but have never thought about it for business. I'll stick to exporting games. Easier, and something I enjoy.

Well as you might have seen in my Jewel thread I know a thing or two about accesories. So jewels along with small London set ups or even old set ups that never made it into Japan.

To give you an example of stuff that I have done in the past (while it was big in the UK before it hit Japan) -

Artful Dodger - hoodies from the cutter club
Mawi - faux antique UK silver jewels
Fake London - scarfs by the f-ing crate!
    Ugo Cacchiatori - italian jewels
    BAPE - UK special designs.
Odd items like UK-exclusive Evisu, Galliano, rare baseball caps etc.

But my continued items that I am always asked for are stuff by Crazy Pig Designs and Vivienne Westwood, both have specials in their London stores that are V hard to find (+expensive in Japan).

Yeah, got offered a ALT job starting 3rd September on Monday. Provisionally going to Tomiya, a little town about 40 mins north of Sendai. Given the short notice getting a work visa is going to be interesting and may necessitate a trip to Seoul the weekend before I start  Still, it's a job and it's in Japan, so I can't complain.

Excellent stuff! I am going late August, so we will be pretty much arriving at the same time. But ya'know you can't not come to Tokyo once in a while, gonna be cool. You probably know Tokyo better than me actually.

I sorted my visa yesterday. I was treated like a proper terroist at the embassy as I turned up all blinged out with a hoodie covered in guns and knives, in the end the security guard just gave up on me and waved me through despite the metal detector and the can of hairspray causing him concern!

So yeah congrats on your gig.

Japanese Embassy? You should see the one in Honolulu. It's a joke. One guard, doesn't check anything (I had long hair and never shaved). In and out in 30 minutes. Got my visa within a week.

American Embassy in Tokyo? Full cavity searches (practically).

Coolbeans! I'll be in Tokyo for orientation for a week or so starting Friday 24th August, so if you're around then, we should definitely hit the bars/shops/arcades
