Hello People, to make a long story short, a friend and myself were lucky enough to get our hands on a Gem Mint Sharp x68030. This was the last and most advanced X68000s that Sharp released back in 1993. In any case, the tower itself has a 15-pin analog RGB out, designed to run with Sharp's RGB monitors. The issue is that we couldn't ship the monitor from Japan and I already have a Sony PVM 2030 with a 21-Pin adaptor. What I am looking for is a 15-pin-to-21-pin RGB converter so that we can play these X68000 games on a standard 21-pin RGB monitor. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again. FYI- I have been told that such adapters were found on Yahoo! Japan Auctions, but I haven't seen one and I can't bid there.
So your PVM has like a 21 pin SCART RGB adapter? It shouldn't be too hard to build an adapter yourself or get someone else to build you it for a small fee assuming the pinout is known.
I was going to link you to an official (as in old) RGB -> composite converter on ebay, but it looks like it has been sold. Either way I doubt you'd want to go down to composite... I believe NFG has the pinout you need, so you can make one yourself, or join shopping mall japan to get access to Yahoo Japan auctions. You are unlikely to get one any other way, though one was on ebay a year or two back.
It's actually my friend's X68030. With that said, yes, my Sony PVM2030 has an RGB SCART converter and a Japanese 21-pin converter. Both were made by James of Choatic Jelly games. My friend emailed him, but he seems pretty busy because his site is down and he has yet to respond. As far as construting such an adapter by myself, I'd rather not. Yahoo auctions Japan is a tedious process because I have dealt with Rinkya years ago, and it was a terrible disorganized experience. So now I am hoping that such an adapter becomes available or made, because I'm sure my friend would pay a good price for one. Aside from that all the Capcom games only run in RGB mode.
