Has anyone else been a victim of this? I was bidding for a game on eBay and with just 6 hours to spare the user ended the listing, and then re-listed the item again with some stupid comment mentioning the reason. Mind you this isn't a new "eBayer" he's sold quite a bit beforehand. Because this eBayer said he got so many questions regarding the item he pulled the listing down and then said it was best to re-list. So apparently the edit link is invisible to him? What a load of balls. I bet this has happened to quite a few of us, what's the worse one you've come across?
Pull an item that has bids on it on Yahoo Auctions and you get negative feedback. Just another of the million reasons why Yahoo Auctions shits on Ebay.
It actually used to exist in the western hemisphere and shat all over eBay, then for whatever reason those were shutdown and it was relegated to the eastern hemisphere. If it expanded again I could see it rapidly putting eBay out of business.
well i was the highest bidder on Banjo tooie cartridge was about to pay and the listing said unavailable >.,<
Found a Dolphin AMC DDH with the RJ11 ports and two DS5 controllers. Auction was pulled two days before it ended.
Cause of lot of people don&t bid until the last minute in the hope that they might get a bargain (or at least complain that they got out bid by a pound, despite the other person having bid a much higher amount), it does seem that if you make someone an offer and the current bids are so low then it might get ended quickly. Although some sellers are just greedy bastards and will end the auction if they feel that the item has not got a high enough bid.
This happened to me with a Game Gear, bid on it, and no one bid, it was at $4 then at the last 30 mins of the auction, I got a email from ebay, my bid was "Canceled" no reason given, then within seconds the seller removed the item from ebay :/ ,something fishy. Edit: PS I think the whole "Your bid is legally binding" is BS if sellers can do these sort of things...
There really should be a rule for this, I mean if the seller wants a certain amount then make it "buy it now" for fucks sake. It's always when I'm winning a auction too it happens ><. I'd be way more upset if it was a dev piece, I know how frustrating it was for some of you So the seller can't get in trouble for this like AT ALL? Yahoo Auctions does look great, especially the Japan one I'm jealous Mark lol
It is worth complaining about, as you can argue that the seller is just backing out as he does not want to sell the item too cheaply. If a user does this too many times then he will be warned and probably banned as Ebay will only earn the lowest listing fee and not the fee for a reserve price or final sale and of course the paypal fees... I did this once to a seller then removed all bids on the last day (and I was winning) and he listed it again 2 weeks later, I sent ebay another complaint about this and the item was mysterious removed and the seller had his account suspended...
alot of people i have found are now putting stuff on ebay to get people to contact them, then they are giving them their contact details and the deals are being done outside of ebay, this has always happened of course but since ebay changed all their fee's etc. its been going on more, had it quite a few times when looking at quiz machines, cabs etc.
It's cause it's not going for what they wanted and yes the real bids dont show up till last hour so for a seller it can be stressful. I did okay on sa2 le, but took a hit on the jpn gc with gb player (went for $22) but I had to ship cause it's the right thing to do and that's how auctions work. Buy it now sellers ate afraid they are underselling, insertion fee, or turning buyers off.
I've reported scammers before, but they still let them trade, I guess it depends who looks at your complaints.
However you are far more likely to find some vagina-man who gets bent out of shape over a 1,000 yen auction that's not paid for within 24 hours of auction end. Even the TOS says you should leave a 72-hour window open. These bitches need to change their fucking panties.
I often have this happen with dev/nfs equipment... And Bootleg Vinyl records from the 70s, which aren't really illegal, but eBay still hates them
