Okay, this is one I expect should be identified quickly as I think it's a pretty well known game. I thought it was an MVS game, but I just looked through System 16's list of MVS games, and I couldn't find it.

They used to have it at a movie theater in my hometown. It was an arcade puzzle game. It featured mainly pre-rendered graphics like DKC and Killer Instinct. The gameplay consisted of shooting hooks with wavy-looking ropes behind them, and the goal was to pop all the balloons in the stage. It looked really good for the time, and I remember it being very fun.

    Any idea what it is?

EDIT: Fuck. I meant identification, not "indentification." Mods: please change it.

Yep, it does sound very like Pang by Capcom but I would class that as Action rather than puzzle so I could be wrong.

Yep, that was it. Pang 3. I guess you're right, it is more of an action game, but it's presented in a puzzle-like format - if that makes any sense. I'd say it kinda blurs the line between the two. Anyway, thank you for the quick identification!
