Phantom case From the looks of the case designs it would be a nightmare to cool. An Athlon XP 2500+ and a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra in that skinny little thing...
The actual "THING" itself looked way cool, id probably have waited for a UK launch and bought one from the PUB..... :drinkers: Anyhow if i win the lotto tomorrow i can always use ebay.... :smt030
the phantom is (well...was) so stylish! i mean, i whanted as a pc because of is beauty and style ! (aslo because it was suposed to be very cheap and very good , as well as upgradable (i would love to upgrade my machine , but i really can't! i need a new machine. :smt022 ) ) the phantom was already dead when it was anounced , i mean , you need to pay the machine , you need to subscrive yourself and pay each months your subscription , you need high-speed internet and you need to pay internet.... that was all ready dead, not allot of gamers can afford all this , plus all games on the phantom where already existing on other suports. oh , well, you can still have a phantom G-string. :smt043
The pub being the place were you get pissed with mates? Does yours sell games too? :-D And by the way, does anybody else remember the beta testing for Phantom? I think they were looking for quite a lot of testers, which would mean there would be a plethora of units around... wonder if they will be recalled from the testers.
Yes, that's what he means but you can also buy "knock off goods" from some people who hang around in pubs. Knock off means stolen :-D Yakumo
or fallen from back of truck like we call it... haven't actually met anyone offering electronic goods or gaming consoles but heaps on ciggies or illegal substances... cheers
It's not always the dubious pub regulars either... I used to get my dodgy duty-free tobacco from my local barman ^_^ Stolen electronics/games do sometimes go around. I remember my old man's workplace got robbed of a few computers once, unfortunately for the thieves they offered it to the technician (from the same workplace) who was down the pub a few days later. They weren't the brightest individuals, as I recall they left the majority of the cables behind, including mice...
