Thanks! Cheat devices are great, hehe.

I tried to find a code which manipulates the fire-ratio of your weapon, but no luck yet...

Been busy with work and crap, about to go and fish out a couple of magazines that I know exactly where they are (I have some in some smaller plastic tubs with other magazines with relevant Clock Tower stuff) so I'll have some of the scans up in a bit.

That and I already did 200+ other scans of stuff so I haven't been in a huge hurry to scan stuff (and also had a shitty day at work, so haven't been in the mood, but I feel better after a nap so >_<; ).

Though I've been thinking about scanning in all of the Famitsu magazines and stuff I have, don't know if I should put them up on Retromags or if I should make another subsite of my own site for them - so maybe you guys can also help me make up my mind about that. Wouldn't happen at first because I have crap to update on my site still (soooo behind my update plan at the moment).

Anyway, will be back with an edit shortly.

Would someone mind posting a link for the 200 scans?

Not for 1.5 I'm talking about, I've been scanning stuff for my own site and the like is what I was referring to.

Finally found the code for rapid fire for most directions:

    Rapid fire

    D00AC758 1088
    800ACA5A 0001
    D00AC758 2088
    800ACA5A 0001
    D00AC758 4088
    800ACA5A 0001
    D00AC758 8088
    800ACA5A 0001

    Works with both characters.

The .zip folder uploaded by puddingman only contains the recent updated magazine scans by iamcwesker.

You can find the remaining magazine scans, shorted by publication and date, here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=ACDA...#cid=ACDA24E3451D735B&id=ACDA24E3451D735B!108

And the missing magazine scans from that archive here (UNKNOWN and UNSORTED sections): https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=70bb...70BBBD9C272717DE!384&authkey=!AN6GcdvDT7yyqro

I never uploaded those to my archive because they weren't cataloged or full body scans. Since those were available in Ridley Haykes' formidable magazine database, I figured there was no absolute need to feature them. Be sure to notify him if you do happen to find more of them, as his is by far, the most massive and organized magazine database of Resident Evil related stuff.

Lamont, are you going to re-upload your old scans? If you do so, could you jack up the resolution a little bit (maybe twice the size of the originals you uploaded)? The reason why I ask this is because only The Playstation magazine scans, which were recently re-uploaded by iamcwesker, and the Famitsu magazine scans feature the Era 3 Build extensively. Also, I'd like to request your permission to add your scans to my magazine section when you're done uploading them. If it's not much too ask, please, upload the front (and maybe the back?) magazine covers.

One more thing. Thanks to Milo from THIA, the ISOs from Hyper PlayStation Re-Mix are available to us. I've been thinking about ripping off the videos (related to RE1.5) and upload them uncompressed (as I have experimented with the BH2 Complete Disc's footage and the gain was significant enough when compared to bioflames.com rips), but if I'm to re-do that section (the video footage), I'd also like to do the same for Capcom Friendly Club videos and V-Jump Festival video. Anyone happens to have those VHS' and would be willing to rip them? Needless to say, you'll be given full credit.

Here's a data point I forgot I had. Sega of America CEO Bernie Stolar announced the Saturn port of "RE2" (aka RE15) on 10 January 1997. This comes from that Sega book I slammed on THIA a while back. Maybe I was too quick to judge. He got a lot of his RE15 stuff wrong - but if anybody knew his Sega stuff, the guy who wrote that book did. So ... that gives Capcom an extra month on the Saturn port, if the data is correct. I still don't think it was enough time for them to do anything serious (re: Biohazard Dash), but I thought it was worth noting for the record.

Did you know that even the final version of RE2 was meant to be release on Saturn? It got cancelled days after Code Veronica reveal in Sega New Challenge 98, Nextech was handling the port. I ve heard that it was meant to use the expansion cart.

Not sure if there was an ever playable build of both, imacwesker said on his RE15 walkthrough videos that it got something like 10-20% done.

About Dash, developers said that it never got past the concept, but there was no info beyond that Barry was meant to be the main character and would return to the mansion, not even artworks were shown.

It's curious how RE Gaiden was probably created using unused concepts, Barry was the main character, and the ship as the setting was meant to be the Hunk's Game, which was internally called Biohazard Gaiden too, before it turned out into RE3

That's interesting. Why was it cancelled? I assume to focus on Code Veronica and the Dreamcast?

I think because the Saturn didn't have enough Power for Resident Evil 2 Grafik etc.

Yeah, it was because of this. This was confirmed by Shinji Mikami himself. Programming duties for Resident Evil Code Veronica were assumed by Nextech, so given the fact that they also programmed Resident Evil 1 for the Sega Saturn, it is assumed they were doing the same conversion effort with Resident Evil 2 before they were relocated by Capcom to work on a new game for the Dreamcast.

Work on the original Saturn port was announced shortly before Mikami sent RE15 - the original RE2 - into development hell while he got together with his people to find out why the game had gone wrong (in his opinion). No coding work of any kind on any version was done from Feburary to the end of March, as far as anybody knows, and then RE15 got shat-kanned (end of March 1997 or early April). Once RE15 was rebooted as RE2, Capcom apparenly decided to do the same thing with RE2 as they did with RE15; that is, wait until the PlayStation original was (mostly) complete before beginning to work on the Saturn port. Since apparently no coding had been done earlier (on the Saturn port of RE15), then it was a sensible decision. That's where Nextech comes into the picture - the Saturn port of RE2 was passed off to them instead of Capcom doing it in-house. By this time we're at the end of 1997, early 1998, though, and the writing is on the wall for Saturn, so ....

I've chatted with some of my friends with Capcom insider contacts, and I've been in touch with the authors of that Sega book. Both of them say that RE15 for Saturn would NOT - I repeat, would NOT have supported a RAM cart. That's just an Internet rumor that's been making the rounds for years. It would have been a straightforward port of the PlayStation original with no Capcom (Saturn) RAM cart support. They had no info on whether or not RAM cart support was going to be added to the retail RE2 port, but both didn't think so. So there you go.

Mr. Pettus had a really funny story to share on that issue, though, that he left out of his book. He got an account from "a wild-eye Sega fan" (his words) who swore up and down that he had seen a copy of retail RE2 for Saturn (!) for sale in one of those little out-of-the-way Hong Kong bootleg shops back in 1998 or 1999 - the guy couldn't remember exactly when. He said it had special white packaging and came with Capcom's RAM cart inside as part of the package. He also said he ran back to his hotel room as fast as he could to get the money the guy was asking, but it was gone by the time he got back. (sad smile). Make of that what you will ....
