Well, but it would have been more entertaining than red text on a black bg with SOTN music though, wouldn´t it ?

I don't really see how that would add much to the usual status reports we get on the project. Even the short advent videos are far better than "play game, make people jizz in their pants".

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all the devoted RE fans of the thread. As far as the video goes, I think it's good that he has reassured us that a holiday video will be posted. ("Making Of," no less; Sounds interesting.) Even if this new video is late, it's still better than being told nothing at all. (I'm sure the thread would have been in much worse shape if absolutely nothing surfaced.) I'm also quite curious about the statement concerning experiencing 1.5 in "several ways." I'm guessing that's in relation to the original version being released alongside the "reconstructed" one. Still, I see no reason to be upset. If another video is confirmed to be on the way, then we've got more information to last us until more information is available. I recommend we do what the latest video suggests and "STAY CALM." (While we're at it, we can "STAY FRESH," as well.)

I find modern video game marketing kinda interesting (in a tragic way). Remember the retail marketing campaign and trailers for Resident Evil 5? While the original marketing campaign just focused on the vague subject of "what happened in Kijuju?" - the trailers themselves, the closer we got to launch, revealed more and more of the game's "big explosions." I honestly don't think there was a single thing about the game that wasn't already revealed/shown to the public pre-launch in a trailer of some sort and all that was left was to "experience it yourself" - rather than "discovering" things for yourself.

It's kinda sad, really... that we've come to such a point that we have to go on a complete media blackout and basically exclude ourselves from discussions and fan communities in order to not have every single nook and corner of a production rubbed in our face pre-release ;D

    "Where's our ****ly update?"
    "Why nothing new yet!?"
"It's Sunday, why is there no new trailer!?"
"WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING NEW SINCE LAST TIME!? HAS IT BEEN CANCELLED!?"

They never confirmed any sort of release date at all. It was always TBA 2013. The other dates were pure speculation.

Haha what a great read, people moaning about people that have spent a lot of their own time doing something for no profit or gain saying that they're bad evil people for not uploading a video...
Do you also go into oxfam and start shouting at them because they're not sending you pictures of your money swapping hands being spent?

    Grow up.

So now the days of 2013 begin to count down. Will this be the year of 1.5? I sure hope so.

Here's some text I quickly translated. My Japanese is not the best, so I had to figure out some symbols.

"I'm fine, now lets concentrate on the safety of the others."

That's how I would adapt it to English. It originally read:

    私なら大丈夫だ
    今はじぶんのあんぜんをかんがえろ

I'm good, I would now think about their own safety

But the sentence could also be read as "私なら大丈夫だ今はじぶんのあんぜんをかんがえろ".

This loosely translates to "Now you should be fine, I would think their own safety". This, IMO, would read as "You're fine, we should concentrate on their safety". It all depends on how they wan't it worded.

    Interesting video.

I'm wondering how they're translating the game in so many languages...
Are they using an automatic translator for french, italian, etc ? Or did they find people to do the job?

    @Zombie250

I'd say that the Japanese is actually saying "I'll be fine, concentrate on yourself!".

The last part, "かんがえろ" is the giveaway as it's imperative and is giving a sort of order to the person being spoken to. Also, the "安全を" ("safety") part is a little superfluous as I presume the context is clear from the on-screen action, therefore I reckon it could be omitted without harming the quality of the dialogue.

Well my Japanese is not the best, the only Kanji I knew is "daijoubu" and "watashi". The others I had to look up. Your translation is actually better than mine. Well it doesn't hurt to try though.
