    Hey gang,

So, I have this thingus, a PS2 Dev Card called a DTL-H10010, that I had shoved in my closet I just pulled out. I saw a couple other guys on the board with them. I have two questions, what does it actually do (as I never used it cause our development never included HDD dev) and does anyone think they might need one? No software included :p

These are part of an external HDD set produced by Sony for the original Japanese PS2 and subsequent Playstation2 development kit called 'Tool'. It's the connecting PCMCIA card.

And that pic nicely illustrates the main difference between a pc-card intended for use with a TOOL & one intended for use with a regular SCPH-1*000 series PS2 - the TOOL ones came with that extra little cable with the RJ-45 socket on (presumably, as accessing the back of the TOOL was more fiddly than a console), whereas the regular ones omit that cable & you plug your network cable direcly into the back of the card. I believe that the actual TOOL/PS2 pc-cards themselves are otherwise identical, apart from the DTL vs SCPH number.

Wyte, I might be interested in that card, as I think I have 1 more external HDD than I have pc-cards.

Ah good answer! So it PROBABLY needs the HDD to be worth anything to anyone, right? :D

Oh and I used to rest my feet up on my TOOL. I Never really fooled around with it much to see what all it has going on haha.

Yeah, I'll probably end up posting it over in the FS area soonish.

Is that not some kind of TOOL abuse ;-)

Man, the other bad thing about those TOOLs is that if you kept them under your desk, it'd create so much trapped heat, your feet would sweat!
