Yeah insane is the right word, he fucks up his car, and fucks up his tires and pollutes the world. I hope he is the one who pays the bill. Cause I am not impressed, but then again I do agree he has some great and awesome manoeuvring skills.

Every time Ken Block does a video, I'm simply impressed with his driving skills. Its like the car is truly an extension of his body.

I love driving, and I love my manual transmission cars, but I know I do not have the skill that he has. The right car is definitely a plus, but it takes real skill to control cars that powerful!

What amazed me was how fast he realized he was going to hit that wall and you could see his body preparing for the impact!

My dad used to be a Rally pilot back when he was young.

I remember he used to drive pretty fast when we went on vacations to places with dirt roads. It was fun.

I guess I inherited his love for speed, because I love cars and would love to one day be able to run some races (although rally is not my cup of tea...).

This one time I went with him as his co-pilot to check out the routes and the accuracy of the roadmaps. I remember how boring it was... I guess the race itself was much more interesting; but I never got to see my dad racing.

What happened to his subaru, I know its a partnership/deal on which car he drives, but I wonder why he changed. Does anybody know?

And know I really want Dirt 3 to come out, I love Dirt 2, fantastic game!

I assume a LOT of other rally drivers can pull off this sort of thing. He just has a sponsor who like to show off their guy's skills through advertisement.

How many WRC events has he won? 2nd? 3rd? Top 5?

I'm not saying he sucks - he's obviously a talented guy - but the thing I don't like about him is this seemingly false sense of of superiority.

I get the impression that he's not actually a very good rally driver but an amazing car controller. There are a few people like this. Ben Collins who was the last Stig has been appearing on the UK Fifth Gear show. He's given challenges but bloody useless at them all. You'd never have known he was the stig. Tiff Neilson, another Fifth Gear presenter is a "Failed" F1 driver however he can make a car do stuff that no other F1 driver can. It all depends upon where your skill is. In Ken Block's case, it's stunt driving.

Well put and to be honest i don't follow WRC/rally much but haven't heard much about him in the rallying world as a great rally driver and 90% of the time i've only ever seen him do this kind of thing as well as appear in the game DiRT 2.

I'm sure he was the one that was doing this on an Ep of top gear with james may if i remember correctly and i did think it was impressive.

Yes, that was him. He did some amazing stuff in that custom Subaru Impreza. As mentioned above, it was far more impressive than what the Ford is doing.

I suppose I shouldn't compare it to rally, and more to western extreme sports... (hence the DC Shoes sponsorship?) - which I still think is silly. I wonder if this will create a new sport of technical trick driving similar to this, but with points and other fun stuff. I know they do have indoor events around a circuit, sometimes as a special section of a rally stage, but I'm thinking of a more X-Games style event.

Short version: I'll stick to my WRC.
