This may have already been posted here and I did mention it in the arcade section, however next weekend (18th & 19th July) the UK's largest arcade expo in over 10 years is being held at the Northampton Saint's rugby stadium in the UK. I am declaring my interest in it as I did help with the media & promo side of things, but I did it voluntarily (no money involved in outcome either). Sadly, due to family illness I have had to pull out of attending the event, but I urge anyone who is an arcade fan with a bit of spare time over the coming weekend to attend if they can. There will be some excellent arcade hardware on display, including 4 of my as yet undelivered cabinets (I haven't even touched them!) Here's a direct link to the event: http://insertcoin-09.com/news/ IC09 Event Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July 2009 Rodber, Captains & Heroes suites of Northampton Saint's ground, Franklin Gdns, Northampton. I'm unable to attend due to family illness, however it is being covered by several different media outlets - I will ensure that some decent images are posted here
wanted to go but don't have time/money think some from arkadtorget.se was going so hopefully I can atleast see some pics
Sorry, I did post in the arcade section a few weeks back, however I wasn't sure anyone here would be interested in attending. However, the furthest flung person I know of coming to the event is traveling from Canada! Someone is coming from USA, some from Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and a pile of people from France. Furtherest I've heard of in the UK is Edinburgh, but there may be others further north.
Its about 2.5 hour drive for me, but I don't do a lot of motorway driving from day to day, Plus I drive an old car and a long drive like this might be asking for trouble.
Come down by train - it's a decent enough ride down. I always forget just how close to London Northampton is. Just 20mins North of mainline from Milton Keynes!
maybe you could convince vendors to send invitations to Greece for two reasons: A) so I can attend B) so this country gets some proper arcade treatment since it's now legal (:clap: ) for arcades to exist. who knows, they might even turn a pretty profit by this investment. If only I had enough time to persuade some investors for my travel costs.
Has the law in Greece outlawing arcade units been overturned? Hitch a lift, you might just make it if you start to use your thumb now!!!
