Hi Is there any way to install ELF (DEV2) into PS2 HDD using pc? My drive is broken and i don't have access to other PS2 :/ My PS2 is SCPH-30003 w/Modbo.
Yeah I want to install FMCB (via DEV2 or DEV1) BUT i don't have access to other PS2 (moded or unmoded) and my laser is dead Any solutions?
Then you can use a PS3 memory card adapter (CECHZM1) and a certain piece of software (PS3 MCA) to install FMCB into the memory card. Not only you will have full unrestricted access to the memory card, but you can also bind KELF files to the memory card using it.
Thanks for answer But if I don't have MC adapter? Maybe any other easier way? (Like using PSF explorer to copy boot.elf? - will it work?)
No it won't work. You need a mean to get uLE working which involves having a fully working PS2 with laser and modchip. If you have some PS2 MC with uLE on it, you can install the boot partition on the HDD but without that you're out of luck. Which takes us back to the problem of having or not FMCB.
I found a way to install dev2 using pc! http://www.ovelhainflavel.com/index.php?showtopic=67 This is a live cd linux that install boot.elf onto boot__ partition to attached ps2's hdd
hi, i have the same problems about somehow my 80gb hdd aren't just won't accept install the boot.elf via dev2 installer with ulaunch and ps2 pfs explorer.. so i came across to your thread here and might will try to install the boot.elf from the live cd you gave above. then my question is how to use this?i mean the file is all on Spanish or brazillian language?? should i just burn to a cd or copy to usb disk the boot my pc or what? please help and thank you
If you look around, you will notice that people figured out how to make any harddrive bootable on the PS2 a few months ago. Edit: Bootable without any kind of modchip so DEV2 is now obsolete.
