If a psone card (1mbit) can store 15 blocks, and this claims to store 1440 I am guessing it is compressed? Uncompressed it would be 96mbit which I find hard to believe on a psone card.
I never trusted those paged memory cards unless I had to use one. I can't imagine trying to use one with over 90 pages to flip through...
Yeah it has to be compressed or more likely, they just lie about the capacity. The reason each page holds 15 blocks is because there's a 1 block allocation table, so if it were uncompressed, it'd have to be on a 128Mbit EEPROM, which don't even exist today much less years ago. Even with 50% compression on the saves, it's still hard to believe the card contains a 64Mbit parallel Flash, unless this product originally cost around $100. I think 4Mbit / 120 blocks would be more realistic.
I have the noted Inter Act ACC 1440massive memory card I love it only had to trim the plastic an the bottom where the 3 spacing grooves are on the pcb to make good contact.. i paid $15usd for min I could try to take it apart and high res scan it and post a pic of the insides now if i could only find a reliable usv -> db9 serial adapter to use my playstation dex drive with taking it apart will be a beach and re assemble it as my left arm and hand is paralyzed by a stroke later, Xeveniah
