Looks like it was built using a mini-itx. I'm not real hot about the graphics, but I'm loving the catridge/hard drive. Not only because it is (or could be) easily swappable, but also because I remember getting a computer around the time I had an snes. Hard Drives at the time *barely* broke the 120 MB barrier, and they certainly wouldn't fit inside of snes cartridge. These have probably been posted before, but a quick look at other computerized consoles: Genesis/Megadrive PC Saturn PC XBox pc components replaced with.... uh... pc components Atari 800 The game cartridge in this pic is actually the mouse Dreamcast PC Playstation PC And of course the PS2, although I don't think the guy ever finished it (at least I hope thats his excuse) Can't forget about the 3do
That Dreamcast one is impressive ! The DC is quite compact so fitting a PC in to that is quite a hard job I would have thought. Yakumo
ah! i was about to say "quick, hide the DreamCast before Yakumo spots it" xD The Saturn PC is my favourite from the lot, followed by the Megadrive one. I love how they did the CD add-on part of the design. By the way, this is the first time I notice that the 3DO looks like the 64DD... I think I m falling in love all over again.. Imagine an n64 Deck riding a 3DO instead of a 64DD..naughty..:love2:
I only posted them to illustrate what could be done with this cool little board. Personally I think all of them (with the exception of the famicom and the 3do) look like crap. If you look at mini-itx.com and look at closer pics, you'll see the cuts were very amature, and no one seemed to take the care to make sure components were placed optimally placed inside the cases like many of the people did with other non video game console projects. All this talk and searching has gotten me interested in doing a gamecube PC. Are you saying 3DO is the bitch? Cause that aint how it is in my book...
One man's 3do, the other man's trash? xD just kidding. The presence of the "pillars" on both the 64DD and this particular model of 3do is what made me say it I think the 3do is kind of big for a n64 to be able to ride it
