Hi, following on from the interview I recently did with Bernie Stolar, I recently interviewed Brian Bacino - the creative mind behind the US Dreamcast launch campaign and the 'Its Thinking' series of commercials. He explains some of the early concepts for Dreamcast ads, when it was still known as Katana. Feel free to check it out here: https://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2018/06/its-thinking-interview-with-brian.html Any feedback welcome. Thanks all
First of all, thanks for a great article! Also, while I'm aware that Brian and the agency he worked for wasn't involved with the European marketing campaign for the Dreamcast, I find it odd that his group's initial Katana-era pitch for a commercial featuring two children taking shots at a target was adapted for the Buoy advert. Surely that wasn't coincidental, but rather Sega recycling what someone clearly felt was a good idea through another company?
