    Hey Everyone,

    I'm kind of low on funds so I'm thinking about getting my family in China to send me stuff they might not want in their collection or have access to:

    Nintendo Light - Like a media player. Can emulate various types of consoles and play movies, MP3s, etc.

    [IMG]

    GBA SP Clone - Has 16GB internal memory. Can load ROMs via USB. Has GBA slot for legit owners as well! (^_^);

    GBA SP Clone - Like a media player. Uses SD card slot for loading movies and ROMs instead of built in memory.

    So, think any of this stuff is worth shipping out, or would it be better just to hang on to them?

    PS: This is just for a friendly reality check. It's perfectly alright to say these are worthless items so don't bother. (^_^);

    Devices like these are pretty cheap on Dealextreme. You'd have to undercut those prices.

    What price would you be wanting for a GBA SP with the 16gb internal memory?

    @Alchy: Hrm... I might be mistaken, but I think the unit deal extreme sells is hard-coded with about 128mbits of games that can't be updated. But you do make a good point. Because they stock similar items, now may not be the best time to sell. I'm thinking I should probably wait until it becomes more uncommon.

    @derekb: Probably about as good as other MP5 media devices. I would guess 8-bit console emulation is spot on, and GBA emulation is a little fast/slow. But I can't say for sure because I don't have these on hand.

    @Cauterize: I'm not sure. But I probably can't beat deal extreme since they sell in mass quantities (Even if the product slightly differs).

    Alrighty, I think now may not be the best time to sell. I think I'll probably just tell them to hang on to the items until they become harder to find and more valuable. At least to make shipping overseas and stuff worth while.

    Thanks again everyone!

    Last I checked there I remember seeing a few different varieties of hardware all in a GBA SP-like shell - one was a GBC clone, one was a hardware GBA clone, and one was like yours, standard-issue Chinese MP4/emulator hardware inside a GBA case. I'd round the links up and post them here if navigating that site was less of a hassle... I'd bet they're all still on there, anyway.

    Looks pretty accurate from those pics. Not bad effort getting Nintendo's style down.

    How rare are the actual Chinese GBA models? A bit amazing to think even Micro made it there with so few games localized.

    Ya, their website isn't the easiest to find stuff with. The Dealextreme link that's already posted is the one I'm sure most people are familiar with because ASSEMbler did a review on it. I guess the units with built-in solid state memory for flashing your own games are the upgraded models.
