investigating bleemcast

    Fun fact, the guy that cracked BC! did manage to remove all protections, but he decided to only remove the minimum required for the release. GDEMU wasn't a thing really back then. That work sadly has been lost in a HDD crash since then.

    Ah wow that is interesting news. I guess there really was no point doing more than the bare minimum for back then. After all, we were all using discs then.

    yeah this is exactly what i had in mind. even if there's graphical errors and similar bugs, i presume saving can't vary too much between each game, but i'm just guessing. maybe getting some information on how the PS1 saved games would shed more light on whether or not the process is dependent on the game, or its just one standard protocol all\most games shared

    does anyone know of any PS1 games that ran near 100%? i'd say those would be the best candidates to attempt loading other ISOs in retail

    Are you asking about games from the beta being near 100%? Klonoa and Strider 2, as well as many arcade style games. Just check my thread at Dreamcast-Talk and look at trying the games listed on there. Smith was the one who made those originally and he only did the ones mostly working. I would say that is a good pl.ace to test as any. Also, all 3 retail betas have different code, thus some games that work on one of them might not work on another.
