I've just noticed there's another flash cart for the Super NES on the market: It's called INVITESNES and manufactured by r.a.m factory STORE: http://ramfactory.com/products.php?64SZ-UF&cPath=1_4 The specs: · Internal FLASH ROM size up to 128MBit (16Mb). · Maximum supported ROM size up to 48MBit (6Mb). · 32kb FRAM or Static RAM memory for game saves store. · USB (only in Enhanced configuration, available when purchasing with Assembler Studio) development port. Support Assembler Studio, and step by step debug with code execution on real console. · Upgradable OS from USB1 and from external memory card. · Game saves can be stored or loaded from SD card. · SD/MMC/SDHC cards support. · FAT12/FAT16/ FAT32 support. 32GB max external card size. · SMARD DMA Module (Support fast external memory access up to 11Mbit/ps). · Support FX Capcom CX4 chip functionality. · Memory paging support (64 ready to run maximum games store on one card). · Automatic Save RAM memory management (extract need to run save ram then game store to internal ready to run memory). · PAL and NTSC systems support, multiregional CIC The cart has a fair price and the CX4 support is a nice feature. Does anyone own this cart already?
It only play 3 games that Super Everdrive can't. Megaman X2 Megaman X3 Star Ocean hack I think the only good upgrade would be SD2SNES when it's done.
I agree, SD2SNES seems like it'll be better. Now if someone managed to put out a cartridge with Super FX or SA-1 support, that would be very interesting.
Read the specs again, it has the same max rom size as ever drive, surely meaning no Star Ocean (96mbit)?
I wonder how they accomplish Cx4 support with a CPLD (Altera MAX II), my guess is that they do some sort of LUT/pre-stored results based HLE. Their wording ("Smart DMA") supports that. In which case I'd really like to see the complete intro of MMX2, they skipped it in the demo video on youtube. In other news I just finished implementation of the Cx4 core. :033: Will make a demo video this weekend. (And probably another one showing off DSP1-4/ST0010 support). I will now proceed to do some preparations to utilize the 2nd RAM bus and then take a look at the SuperFX.
I tried to order from them today. Forget it, it's a total pain in the ass! For some reason they don't accept credit card payment from Canada and they only take that thing called WebMoney. Wasted an hour trying to sign up and make it work only to realize I could only put money in the account using wire transfer and crazy thing like that. Total waste of time and now it doesn't seem like there is a way to close my account at that crappy WebMoney place.:dammit: Update: Just wanted to let potential customer know that this comment was left in the very beginning of invitesnes availability and the payment arrangement are now much easier to deal with. The carts they sell look solid and I would consider buying from them if I didn't have an SD2SNES already.
