    No, 3G is okay. Only the price is important.

    In the next weeks comes the 4G...the 2G launch on 2007 (3 Years!) and i find the price (200€ or 240$) is okay.

    Well if you plan on using it in Germany as a phone, you should make sure that you're getting a 3G with a low enough firmware to unlock.

    That's the beauty of the original iPhone. All of them can be unlocked.

    My iPhone 3G is running 3.1.2 (IIRC) and it currently is unlocked with blacksn0w.

    The LCD on it did go bad, but I will get that fixed if you want it.
