Whats everyone's thoughts. I'm considering swapping out my 2 year old iphone5 for it. I'm not an apple fan boy. But in the past I've had androids; htc evo etc, and the phone basically sucked after a year. Sd card wouldn't mount, battery went to shit, poor reception. I used to call myself a poweruser, rooting devices etc. But now I just use the phone for the basics. web,maps,text,talk and games here and there. I'm not bashing android phones at all. There are some great models out there now. I guess what I like about my previous iphones are they just continue to work and keep a high resale valve. Should I wait or should I jump on the bandwagon now.
Well design wise it has come full circle. It is designed just like the original, only smaller. The evo was a good phone but it didn't work well for very long. If you know how to SU you obviously know how to control battery usage. Basically all it comes down to is personal preference and what you are use to. I use to be all about android. Then I switched to an iphone. It all does the same crap. How do you like it all displayed? The thing I do like about android is that it's more complicated to use. The iphone is much more user friendly. But me being me, I never watch all the guides to do all the little secret gestures. In my opinion, anyone more technically inclined likes androids because changing settings and personalizing is easy to us because we already understand how to alter things due to our previous experiences. But, since I've been using an iphone for a year now I prefer it. I sell a lot of phones and people ask me all the time, "Iphone or Android?" I reply, " They all do the same shit, it's a matter of preference."
I think it looks pretty cool, and I'm almost definitely going to get one. Probably not right away - I need to wait a few weeks. For those saying that it's just imitating Android phones, I would point out that it incorporates some new features unique to the iPhone 6, including both the design of the phone and its functionality. I'm really looking forward to it.
I guess you bought cheap ass Android phones then as I've never encountered any of those issues. My current Sony Xperia ZL2 can easily last 3 days before changing, super fast, water proof (nothing new in Japan. I've had phones that were water proof for 4 years now) and has an outstanding camera with 4k video. As for the new iPhone, well it will be the same as the last just like all the ones before it. It's the main reason why I changed over to Android like many people. Just don't make the mistake and buy a chappy Android phone though.
The android phone I got at the time was considered good and not cheap... In the past I think android makers were going through a phase of "lets put every feature capable in the phone and not really test it" The evo was one of the first 4g capable phones, but its antenna design was so terrible you'd have to be outside for it to work. (The reason why i made the switch to android, my phone before was a iphone 3g) I've used other peoples android and do like the os. and the reason why I made this post.
Maybe take a look at the Meizu MX4, if I had of known they were releasing the MX4 so soon, I would've waited. Just got the MX3 few months ago
Not knowledgeable in phones, but keep in mind that every Apple product tries to rope you in into their ecosystem. Lot's of proprietary crap.
I think he's talking more like the cables and so on. Sony would do that at one point. I was surprised to see my Sony phone had a standard mini USB charging port.
I do admit that I`m not a huge apple fan either, but they do make good products. The iPhone6 looks good enough, specially the 5.5inch one. The watch. It looks great! Though I`m concerned about the battery life and if its 'waterproof' and some many other things like brightness/scratches/price Other then that, its pretty useless that you can read messages from your wrist when (at least me) when i`m sitting at my desk working, I have my phone next to me.. I do like the fact that the Watch is so many different ways of displaying Time, and very easy to attach bands. (even though in the add of the Watch they say it like the just created a new Race...)
Huh... that's news to me. Then I guess it must be really easy to use a Saturn controller with a PlayStation. Or a Super Famicom AV cable with a Mega Drive, or a 360 power adapter with a PS3, etc etc etc.
Eh??? What are you talking about? You asked if game cables are universal or something and I said no they're not unless they are USB or lan cables. Of course you can't use other system controllers on other consoles unless they use the 9 pin system that the Mega Drive and a whole host of other systems do EDIT: never mind, I miss understood your original post
I've already got mine pre-ordered. For the longest time, I'd been temped by Android phones due to their bigger screen. Never ended up getting one, mostly because my apps wouldn't work and just in general I'd have a smaller selection of apps. But now they have an iPhone with a big screen, so I'm content now.
I know a lot of people that insist on Android because "customise and root access lolol", but don't actually use either of those features. Phandroids.
You're also not forced into using iTunes to add photos and music. Unless that's changed now, but I highly doubt it. Went to Android, and never looked back. It's far more open than iOS. Even with my current phone's customized Android "Flyme" still miles better than iOS has ever been.
if you don't like itunes just jailbreak (stupid term if you ask me)... It's funny how people are complaining about battery life even before the thing comes out hahahah.. Unless you know how much current the device is pulling on average an hour, you are talking out your ass (no offence intended) I'm going to probably get the 6+ in 128gb flavor Why? Because it's my money haha
If you want something innovating, quality build and at a good cheap price try the motorola moto x (first gen), this is currenly my favourite phone. Iphone indeed stands for quality, but with the same old interface, limitations, itunes and being way overpriced, it will never be my cup of tea. Old generation and cheap android phones are indeed mostly shit, but nowadays if people would compare iphones to high end android and set their fanboyism a side, they would notice android has more to offer for less. High-end HTC, LG, Samsung, Sony, Oppo and Motorola really offer bang for your buck and are of good quality. Always funny to see Apple claim they are innovating, while they always come late to the party with new features. When I ask my Apple loving friends why they would want a new iphone, they remind me of zombies and come up with stupid responses or just say because it's Apple. I would not give a shit which brand comes with what, every 1-2 years I switch brands, if others offer something better price/quality/performance wise. I would even consider iphone (even owned a 3GS for a while), if it wasn't for the crazy high price and the need of itunes. Iphone in my eyes is more a fashion statement nowadays, people that love them blindly really do not want to be seen with anything else, regardless what is on offer.
The iPhone is the only Apple product I buy For the same reason that I use a Windows PC: support. With Windows having most of the market share, most programs are made for it. Same with iOS. As the text usually goes "For iOS and Android". It's certainly not brand loyalty, I've covered the logo on the back many times when I find a case or skin I like. Whenever I've used an Android phone, they've always felt a bit "unfinished". Which is to be expected, when you're trying to be "FIRST!", there's not much time for iteration and testing ;
