But these days app support doesn't come in to it. Yes, there are more apps on the Apple store compared to the Play Store but both stores have millions of apps so it's irrelevant now. There's nothing an iPhone can do that Android can't when it comes to apps.
I remember playing with iOS in 2008, and thinking, damn, this is cool, but the simple icon grid is just too plain for me. I thought it was only temporary, you know, like not having copy and paste, no MMS, or even not being able to take a video with the camera. It wasn't temporary...
iTunes really went downhill since it's first few years. From simple and effective to bloated and buggy and I-won't-touch-it-with-a-ten-foot-pole.
Actually it's the other way round (2.7m vs 2.2m), but I agree with the rest. I never understood the love for iPhones either. Yes, my friend's iPhone 7 more or less matches my LG G5's camera (which is very good), but the rest just doesn't compare.
I got an iPhone 8 last week and I really enjoy it so far. Enjoy your hatred; meanwhile, I have a pretty cool phone. This is totally false; you don’t need to use iTunes to use an iPhone. I don’t know where you got this idea. Also, the Windows version of iTunes has always sucked. The macOS version is better. There are alternatives for syncing music to an iPhone, though. Otherwise, it’s not required.
Toy or no toy isn't a problem. Problem is feature removal and overall build quality. Sometimes you can step on cheap chinese phone which is all plastic and stuff and there will be not even a scratch, you drop iPhone 4 and 6-8 from your table and you got a broken touchscreen, if not the screen itself. Also yesterday my friend brought me me ipad air 2015 for touchscreen and battery replacement, he said that headphone jack is acting up. Imagine my surprise that i found no screw, which holds it in place and not even a trace that it was ever screwed. and that tablet wasn't refurbished or something like that, they just forgot that screw. Also speaking of headphone jack and other connectors - connector removal trend makes Apple products unsuitable for making music etc. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Once software will catch up on Android (Windows got enough already, there's even some stuff for Linux) - RIP ipad and macbook as musician's tool.
I wasn't being dead serious when I said it. I mean you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to copy anything to the phone, I know there are other programs apps to do it but officially itunes is the way to go according to Apple osx version might or might not be better but still a crap program overall
Who cares what Apple wants you to do? Other options work just as well. It's easy to do that: just download the program and then run it. I wouldn't call that having to "jump through hoops". If downloading and running a program is a serious issue, then using a computer in general must be really difficult. The iPad and MacBooks have headphone ports.
That's much a cliché as the opposite. What I don't like about Apple is that they try to lock you in their ecosystem. It's a good business strategy but it sucks for the advanced user.
Exactly. If "most" Apple users "can't use a computer properly", then I guess I'm not "most", because that shit does not apply to me at all.
They get the idea from the first 4 years of the phones life, where it was necessary to activate the phone. While you're technically right, it's kind of like saying I'd rather stab my ears than my eyes, neither are recommended. Don't get me wrong, typing this on a MBP, there's just ups and downs to all products. Me and iPhones just don't seem to mix.. Being "The Tech Guy" I get all this stuff handed to me, and I'm the kind of guy that something super easy like a simple restore (without even saving files!) ends up just straight up failing because iTunes decides to download the wrong version of iOS(true story, try re-directing iTunes to download a different file, it's NOT FUN). It makes all those smarmy people who tell me "It just works" seem like that much bigger dicks. It never just works for me, it always has to be some big ass pain in the ass for whatever dumb reason. "Oh hey, my 128GB iPad says low storage and I can't take mah pictures anymore" *Takes home, finds there's just a bug in that version of iOS that created 98GB of junk that can't be deleted without restoring the fucking thing* FML!
Once I connect my phone to the pc via usb, all I want it to do is present the storage to the os, so I can copy and paste my music, videos and dick pics manually if I want to, simple click of a button to rescan library from the phone to pick up new files and that's it, but no I need itunes or insert another alternative program which will probably stop working in the next ios update...
I have to admit that is one of the beauties of Android. Just plug the phone in to a PC then drag and drop everything or anything you want on to the phone and it works. Any video format, any audio format, any image file and so on.
And it's actually simpler to do that than to lock it the Apple way... (But it's more complicated than we might naively think, nonetheless)
