Like, are the Anime shows aimed at everyone or are they aimed at teenagers or what?
I heard that Digimon was actually meant for much older audiences and several scenes were deleted and the conversations were *Severely* edited in America.

Nope, 90% is on at like 8am for kiddos. They just have more mature stuff for their kids, hell
sailor moon has lesbian enemies and it was a show for eight year olds...

You'll need to head to satellite for the adult stuff. Even then there's only maybe 5-10 series a year you could really call adult (that aren't outright hardcore porn)

But it's like the simpsons, they throw enough injokes in the kids anime that anyone can watch it.

I never really understood the parents who dressed as pokemon characters..
That's like my dad showing up dressed as wolverine or Professor xavier.

My Mom, Dad, and brother used to call me a Pokedigimon, because I played Pokemon and watched Digimon.

Basically everything that's not tentacle rape porn is for high school and lower... depending on the time of day. Every now and again they have stuff that perhaps someone in high school just won't get, but for the most part... it's young. That whole "anime isn't for kids" argument really doesn't hold up that well.

Well, you show Evangelion to a kid, and they will probably be scarred for life.

My first Japanese girl friend loved Evangelion and she was 22. I can't stand it myself. I'd say some anime that's not shown on TV is for young adults (Not talking about hentai crap here) but like GaijinPunch said, most of the stuff on TV is for the kids.

I think showing the latter would becalled "child abuse" in most countries.
