Is anyone else sort of pissed that Okami on Wii will be a straight port...

Im just happy i'll get to play okami full stop. I got rid of my ps2 around the time the gamecube came as i traded it in but, theres games like okami that i missed out on.

It will be nice to give it a shot on the wii, theres probably a lot of people like me who missed it the first time around.

I know this is really late in the game to break it to you but if you ditched your PS2 when the GC came out, you missed out on far more than Okami.

    I disagree.

The purist nintendo gamer yearns not the games of the populous, but savours the titles of his console, ultimately making him the master of games.

Well that said, I did enjoy my GC alot. More than any PS2, that's for sure =) The PS2 is ok, but it doesn't feel right , especially the controller - doesn't feel as immersive as the nintendo experience.

If you want immersiveness on a PS2, play The Getaway or Driv3r or Miami Vice. All games of the highest quality. ;-)

I'm the spitting image of someone that hates games of the populous and the PS2 is clearly the system of choice (last gen) that had everything...from the obscure, to Final Fantasy Whatever. The Gamecube had... well... a few good Nintendo games.

Even though my PS2 collection is much larger than my GC collection, in overall, I'm fairly certain that my GC has atleast x10 the playtime of my PS2, and I've had a PS2 since Euro launchdate (same with GC, got one on Euro launch).

And in the case of multi platform titles, it wasn't even a question when it came to which version to pick up a copy of.

I'm a lover of the obscure, but the problem is that when you compare the obscure on the PS2 to the good Nintendo titles is that you get quite a lot of the same, just that the production values are higher in the Nintendo title.

Ofcourse, there are some stuff you just couldn't find an alternative to on the GC, such as SOS/Disaster Report, which was an excellent title (same with the sequel). But if one is to bring up obscure titles on the PS2, then one shouldn't ignore the fact that the GC had some nifty little pieces too, such as Gheist. One might say then that Gheist isn't exactly the best title on earth, but the same applies to SOS/Disaster Report, but they're still both excellent pieces of awesomeness for anyone who likes unique games.

Actually no, i kept following stuff on the PS2 even after getting rid of it, okami is literally the only game i really wanted to play real bad.
