Is anyone playing Bomberman Live?

It's surprisingly good in just about every respect. Loads of game types, good online multiplayer performance, and they got the "feel" down almost perfectly. This completely makes up for Act Zero in every way.

Surprised that there isn't much being said about the game, especially since the pre-release hype was pretty strong.

I'll have to check it out when I get my 360 back from the dead. I actually thought Act Zero was fun though...

So you really think this new Bomberman is that good? Looks like I know what my next MS point purchase will be then! I love me some good ol' Bomberman action!

... I never even bothered with Act Zero.... heard to many bad things about it. :crying:

Yeah, it's classic Bomberman. You can adjust the viewpoint on the fly from a classic overhead view to the wonky pseudo 3D view we saw on the Dreamcast edition. Hell, even the music has sort of a PC Engine-esque vibe to it!

Plus they throw in a bunch of other modes and stages to keep things interesting. Live play is pretty solid providing you don't get any players with horribly bad ping rates. You get loads of customization options as well, plus the leaderboards make things interesting if you have a bunch of friends you play with often.

The core gameplay is done right where anyone who was skilled with the 8-bit and 16-bit versions will immediately feel at home. That counts for a lot.

Well I guess I'll give the game a download when I'm of work next week. The part I'm most interested is the online play. To be honest I've never played more then a 2 player match in bomberman.
