   or do most non computers read the +R DL format?
   
   I'm asking becuase I can't seem to find DVD -R DL anywhere only DVD +R DL

   It's still going to be an issue with older DVD players, because there is nothing to be done to make the discs more compatible. However, pretty much any new device can play any sort of DVD+/-R.
