i was just wonder if it would be possible to rip a gamecube component input and mod it into a n64?

i realize no one has thought of this there for there is no mod tutorials.

AFAIK the Gamecube outputs 'Digital A/V' which is then converted to analogue Component (or VGA), using a small DAC IC that's located inside the cable itself. You can see more details >>here<< - the chip is also responsible for converting the audio.

I'm not sure if it possible, but there might be a way to integrate the aforementioned DAC circuit into the N64, theoretically giving component or VGA output.

Also found some info over on the nfggames.com forum >>here<< that might be of interest. I recommend you do a few searches on their forums.

*EDIT* apparently the Gamecube DAC converts a digital component signal (plus audio), and the N64 DAC converts digital RGB signals only, so I don't think it'll work.
