Is it possible to mod offical Sega Genesis Wireless controllers to use 2.4ghz?

    I got a friend here thats asking me if its possible to mod the controllers and the receiver to use 2.4ghz technology. It seems like it possible but i admit im not engineer so i might need some help on this one.

    I believe those uses IR technology, which depends on line of sight to work. Theoretically it can be converted but I'll leave that to RF experts.
